I use HikeTech as well as any other program I can find for my Garmin 76S GPS on a Mac G4. Having purchased and used NG Topo I can attest that HikeTech is a much better program for plotting your hikes and rides than NG Topo.. You can save all your tracks and routes on your Mac and upload them as you need them so your GPS is free from clutter. I had a couple of problems with HikeTech in the beginning and their tech guys worked with me back and forth to solve the problem (fast) and they immediately posted the changes to MacUpdate. I asked them to add a couple of things and they did it immediately. I use NG Topo for their maps (which are very good) and I use those maps exclusively in HikeTech. For the Mac I have found that HikeTech is about as good as you can get. I downloaded GPSBabel to convert some files and I am also disappointed that it does not work with the HikeTech files.. but at least these guys are trying and that is a LOT more than we (on our Mac's) had for many years.. which used to be nothing !!! Keep up the good work guys. And McBabel please adopt your program to work with HikeTech files.
