The freeware Windows 10 program allows you to write your own keyboard shortcuts for any program you use (or for Windows in general), taking even multi-step tasks that would require a lot of typing. Click on a text-entry form, type in your macro (“addr,” in my case), and press the space bar or a punctuation mark—and when you do, the text string you saved a few steps ago (“1234 Main Street”) will jump into the form. Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing.

I've been trying out a few high-end gaming mice lately, most of which have the option of recording mouse macros to bind to a button. For the life of me, though, I can't figure out anything to try and record. I'm sure that if I really wanted to, I could make a macro for World of Warcraft that would let me pop Evasion and Sprint at the same time and bind it to a mouse button, but it seems like it'd be a lot easier to make a macro in-game and bind it to a key; at least then I'd have a free mouse button. The same goes for FPS's; it's not difficult to record a macro that zooms in your sniper rifle and instantly fires, but it seems like a waste of a mouse button that could just as easily be used for something more critical.

So I guess I'm just curious if any of you have any examples of macros that you've found helpful in certain games. To me, it seems like macros are a good way to automate actions that you need to perform fairly regularly in a game, but then on the other hand, those actions are the most likely ones to have been made as simple as possible by the game designers, thus reducing the need for macroing at all.
